Welcome to our Infant/Toddler (15 – 24 Months) Program at Little Light of Mine — a place where learning, laughter, and discovery come together every day! At this exciting stage, children are becoming more independent, curious, and eager to explore the world around them. Our classroom is designed to encourage growth through fun, engaging, and hands-on experiences that support each child’s developing mind and personality.
We believe young children learn best through being active in play and meaningful interaction. Our daily activities include early learning concepts, music and movement, story time, creative arts, sensory play, beginner problem-solving activities, and opportunities for social interaction. These experiences help children strengthen their language, cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development in a natural and enjoyable way.
Because this age will shake up a seasoned, trained teacher, and the children are constantly moving, we refer to them as “Movers and Shakers.” In the mover & shakers class, it is such an exciting time. This is the place and time for exploring. Here they love to touch and taste everything, scream and run. As they explore, the staff provides developmentally appropriate materials for each child to learn.
At this time the children become more aware of their surroundings, we ensure a stable environment and routine schedule. We display family photos, provide mirrors to help children recognize themselves, and include books, dress-up clothes, and dolls that represent all ethnicities.
At Little Light of Mine, we focus on helping children build confidence, communication skills, and positive relationships with others. Through group activities, cooperative play, and teacher-guided learning, children learn important skills like sharing, listening, expressing emotions, following directions, and working together with friends.
